Italian Meat Balls

 
 
This Italian meat ball recipe delivers full flavor while featuring low-fat turkey meat and heart healthy oatmeal. The unique blend of spices is the secret to to the success of this recipe. Your family will never guess this is the healthy version of the traditional Italian meat ball. Serve with your favorite spaghetti sauce and pasta.
 
1 lb    ground turkey  
1 1/2 cup    oatmeal  
1/2 cup    grated parmesan cheese  
1 cup    finely chopped zucchini  
1/4 cup    skim milk  
2 large    egg whites  
4 Tbs    chopped garlic  
1 Tbs    minced parsley  
1 Tbs    fennel seeds  
1 Tbs    oregano  
1/2 tsp    salt  
1/8 tsp    pepper  
  fat free cooking spray  
 

1 Mix all of the ingredients together until evenly blended.
2 Wash hands and form meat mixture into meat balls.
3 Spray frying pan with fat free cooking spray and add a couple tablespoons of water to prevent sticking while cooking.
4 Set heat at medium temperature and cook meat balls until browned.
 
Servings: 15
Yield: 30 meat balls
